Rocialle Wins Consecutive Awards for Partnership with the NHS

23rd January 2017

For the second year running Rocialle has won the MediWales award for Partnership with the NHS. In December, Rocialle received the 2016 MediWales Innovation Award for their collaboration with Cwm Taf University Health Board and 1000 Lives Improvement Wales in the development of the single-use SepsisBox. This innovative product provides all of the equipment required by a nurse starting time-critical Sepsis Six treatment, with clear instructions for delivery, improving effectiveness and efficiency.

Anne Evans, Rocialle’s Clinical Product Manager, received the award in front of hundreds of guests who had gathered to celebrate the achievements of the Welsh life science community at the National Museum of Wales in Cardiff. Anne thanked Cwm Taf University Health Board and 1000 Lives Improvement for their collaboration in the project and recognized the contribution of the Bevan Commission.

Developed with Cwm Taf University Health Board and the 1000 Lives Improvement Service, NHS Wales, as part of the Bevan Commission’s innovation programme, Health Technology Exemplars, the Rocialle Single-Use Sepsis Box has been selected for trials at Health Boards and Trusts in Wales and England. Viewed as ideal to facilitate Sepsis Six care at the earliest time, Rocialle’s Single-Use Sepsis Box ensures everything required is to hand and easy to administer in the correct order. It makes stock keeping easy and improves infection control. Within each compartment of the Sepsis Box, the devices and supplementary items required for each step are provided within their own sterile packaging.

At the MediWales Innovation Awards in December 2015, Rocialle received the coveted ‘Partnership with the NHS’ award for its work with NHS Wales and particularly ABM UHB, in the development of a national cannulation procedure pack.

Rocialle’s Managing Director Stephen Burt was delighted with this latest win, saying “These consecutive MediWales awards are recognition of Rocialle’s ongoing commitment to working in real partnership with Health Boards and Trusts and of our consistent success in developing products that meet the exact needs of healthcare providers.”
