Helping Patients Face the Future
19th June 2018Rocialle products are being used in the performance of life changing surgery, helping sufferers of Noma
Noma is a terrible disease which results from an untreated oral infection. Causing severe facial deformity, Noma has a dreadful effect on the sufferer, often causing them to be ostracised by their community. Twice a year, the charity Facing Africa sends teams of volunteers to Ethiopia. Comprising twenty people; surgeons, anaesthetists, nurses and support staff, the teams perform facial reconstruction surgery. Elongating the beneficial effects of each mission, Facing Africa also provides training to local clinicians and provides medical supplies for use between visits.
Facing Africa has now completed ten missions, treating 500 sufferers, and Rocialle has donated surgical supplies and sterile medical packs for many of them.
