SepsisBox

Sepsis claims 44,000 lives annually in the U.K, and costs the NHS an estimated £2.5 billion.

Early intervention with the Sepsis Six certainly saves lives, but has also been shown to reduce length of hospital stay and need for Critical Care admission. Fixing your organization’s response to sepsis will save an extra 100 lives per year for a typical medium-sized DGH, and £1.25 million annually; just by getting the basics right.

"...the Sepsis Six care bundle as a whole has been shown to reduce the relative risk of death by 46.6% when delivered to patients with severe sepsis within one hour"

– Improving outcomes for patients with sepsis, a cross-system action plan, NHS England 2015

According to the UK Sepsis Trust, early intervention with the Sepsis Six certainly saves lives. This single use Sepsis Box has been developed to make Sepsis Six more effective.

Developed with Cwm Taf University Health Board and the 1000 Lives Improvement Service, NHS Wales, as part of the Bevan Commission’s innovation programme, Health Technology Exemplars, the Rocialle Single-Use Sepsis Box has been selected for trials at Health Boards and Trusts across Wales and England.

Viewed as ideal to facilitate Sepsis Six care atthe earliest time, Rocialle’s Single-Use Sepsis Box ensures everything required is to hand and easy to administer in the correct order. It makes stock keeping easy and improves infection control.

Within each compartment of the Sepsis Box, the devices and supplementary items required for each step are each provided within their own sterile packaging.

Two versions exist. One was developed with 1000Lives Wales and Cwm Taf UHB and one with the UK Sepsis trust.
